A dry-docking period is one of the best opportunities to overhaul mechanical fuel-injection equipment, but only when the component work is integrated into the vessel schedule. Waiting until the pump has already been removed can create avoidable pressure on transport, inspection, spare-parts procurement and final calibration. We therefore encourage technical superintendents and shipyards to contact us during the planning phase.
Our marine service is not limited to one pump manufacturer or one engine family. Depending on pump design, condition, technical documentation, spare-parts availability and suitable test-bench adaptation, we assess, overhaul, repair and calibrate mechanical fuel injection pumps from Bosch, LÓrange (also searched as L'Orange), Kugelfischer and other manufacturers. We accept enquiries for mechanical fuel-injection equipment used on all categories of marine engines operating either at fixed speed or across a variable speed range, including main propulsion, auxiliary, generator and other shipboard duties. Common Rail systems are not part of this service scope.
Plan the Injection Work Around the Vessel Schedule
For planned projects, we establish the technical and logistical framework before dispatch. The most useful information includes:
- planned engine shutdown and pump removal date
- shipyard and vessel location
- latest practical dispatch date to Germany
- required return date and intended engine reassembly date
- expected sailing or commissioning date
- whether the work concerns one pump, a tandem system, individual cylinder pumps or a complete pump-and-injector set
- whether the engine operates at fixed speed or variable speed
- availability of historical calibration or acceptance data
Suitable for Main Propulsion, Auxiliary and Generator Engines
A variable-speed main engine and a fixed-speed generating set can require very different calibration priorities. Main-propulsion equipment may need assessment over several speed and load points, while fixed-speed auxiliary or generator applications can require particular attention to repeatability and uniformity around the rated operating point. The engine duty must therefore be documented before test planning begins.

Large Pumps and Tandem Systems
For large mechanical inline pumps and coupled pump systems, physical size and the number of pumping elements can exceed the practical capacity of ordinary diesel test benches. Our workshop includes dedicated equipment for large injection pumps and mechanically coupled systems serving engines with up to 16 cylinders. This is particularly relevant to historical high-output marine engines and V-engine installations.
Bosch, LÓrange, Kugelfischer and Other Manufacturers
Dry-dock projects are accepted by application, not only by brand. We evaluate mechanical injection pumps from Bosch, LÓrange, Kugelfischer and other manufacturers, including mixed fleets and older engine families. Technical acceptance depends on pump construction, test requirements, documentation and the parts situation.
Reduce Schedule Risk Before the Docking Window
The earlier the pump is identified, the more time is available to locate historical parts, verify data and determine whether unusual test-bench adaptations are required. This is especially important for obsolete injection systems where a worn internal component may not be obtainable from normal stock.

- Coordinate transport and customs requirements where applicable.
- Dispatch the complete agreed component set after removal.
- Workshop inspection and technical findings.
- Repair decision and spare-parts approval.
- Overhaul, reassembly and calibration.
- Return shipment for engine installation.
